Laura was born in Rome and has lived in many places around the world – London, Vienna, Belgrade, Washington DC, Buenos Aires. She has studied seven foreign languages, studying diction, acting, film dubbing as well as singing. She has studied and sung in a diverse range of musical styles: Neapolitan classical songs, opera arias, harmonic singing, Indian music, Broadway shows, gospel, jazz and Brazilian music, especially Bossanova. She has sung both as a soloist and in choirs, and she has performed in various clubs and festivals in Italy, France, Germany and UK.
In 2006 she won a scholarship in jazz singing at the International Jazz Festival (Roccella Jonica, Italy). With her great friend, the Italian guitar player Luca Giardini, she founded the JOM Quintet.
This year (2013) Laura recorded her first album as a soloist, Pictures in Tones. The album was produced by Anita Wardell and features Robin Aspland (piano), Dave Whitford (doublebass), Tristan Mailliot (drums), Martin Shaw (flugelhorn), Guillermo Hill (guitar) and Oli Savill (percussion). The CD was released in October 2013.
